Katherine Koch

Katherine Koch

PT, DPT

Owner & Doctor of Physical Therapy

Welcome! Glad to have you here. I'm here to help you navigate a space that can feel unfamiliar, and to address your issue while making you feel heard, comfortable, and supported. I have a passion working with women (and men!) to help them through pelvic health challenges. This might mean keeping someone strong and active throughout pregnancy, relieving pelvic, back, or hip pain at any stage of life, resolving bladder and bowel issues, and more!

My career in physical therapy traces back to my dual undergraduate degrees in exercise science and women's, gender, and sexuality studies from Ohio State University. My background in these fields led me to my doctorate in physical therapy from Regis University here in Denver. Pelvic health physical therapy requires post-graduate training, which I have accumulated extensively over the years and continue to pursue actively to stay up to date with research and techniques.

Working as an orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist led to my treatment philosophy of treating each person and each issue as unique, individual, and important. You are not the same as the person next to you, so let's not treat your injury or dysfunction as if it's the exact same either. Bodies are complex and it's my job to help you better understand yours.

I love to practice what I preach! My favorite activities include hiking, running marathons, weight lifting, Pilates, and happy hour. Like everyone, I've had my fair share of struggle with pain and injury: running ankle sprains, squatting knee pain, pelvic pain, tension headaches, and more. I've been there, and I'm here to help you in the same way.

S.M.

Katherine is extremely detail oriented and explains the PT exercises very clearly. Her superpowers are knowledge of the human body, empathy, and listening/hearing her patients.

L.D.

Katherine is an incredible PT and has helped me exceed my goals beyond my wildest dreams. The pain is long gone and daily activities are nothing to worry about - I’m going on steep 5 mile hikes, getting back into tennis, and keeping up with my active family. Katherine’s deep knowledge base, enthusiasm, and curious yet disciplined approach helped me get back to the active CO lifestyle I once loved - injury free - and now I’m dreaming up big plans for my future!

S.B.

I am eternally grateful for her understanding and her expertise that served me greatly and continues to be a foundation for my continued healing.  I feel much stronger and more flexible in my back, hips and neck as a result of my work with Katherine.  She has been a true gift to me. Thank you Katherine for your professional PT abilities and your human touch.

Megan Richard

PT, DPT, CSCS

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Nice to meet you! I’m excited to work with you to get you back on track to living the life you love. I use a holistic and well-rounded approach with my patients considering the musculoskeletal system, functional mobility, mental and physical health, lifestyle, diet, hormone influence, and more. Pelvic health issues can be multifactorial and I recognize that there can be multiple factors leading to why you're seeking care. I care very deeply about my patients and am always determined to get to the root cause of what is holding you back.

My 5+ years of experience in pelvic health physical therapy stems back into my family history of women’s health focused healthcare providers. This roots all the way back to my grandmother who worked as a labor and delivery nurse and started a long family tradition of working in women's health. Carrying on the family tradition, I decided to specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy and participated in training through the University of Pittsburgh’s renowned pelvic health residency program. This training in combination with my experience in general orthopedic physical therapy equipped me to help you with all things pelvic floor and more! My extensive experience and in-depth training has allowed me to work successfully with a variety of pelvic and orthopedic health conditions.

In my personal time, I love any activity that involves being outdoors or moving my body! I'm a classic Colorado weekend warrior and I’ve probably dabbled in every activity under the sun. Current favorites include snowboarding, hiking, yoga, weight lifting, and all community team sports. I know how frustrating it can be when your body isn't working quite right and how challenging it is to find the solution. I'm here to help you find the root of what's holding you back and get you back to doing what you love.

K.N.

Megan is incredibly approachable and direct in her guidance—something I really appreciated as I was learning about an entirely new part of my body. Thanks to her support, I feel much more equipped to manage and reduce pain throughout the remainder of my pregnancy, and I’m more confident in my plan to attempt an unmedicated birth.

A.K.

Megan at Sage PT has been instrumental throughout my pregnancy. She takes the time to connect with patients and understand the whole person, and identifies and clearly communicates areas of needed improvement and support. Pelvic floor physical therapy work is a very intimate but extremely important part of pregnancy and postpartum, and Megan makes sure I feel safe and supported at all of our appointments. She has made a world of difference in both my pain management and prep work for birth and beyond!

R.L.

I was recommended Sage PT by a friend and would recommend Sage to anyone! I started PT services when I was ~5 months pregnant following a low back injury and significant pelvic pain. Megan problem solved with me until delivery to improve my pain and birthing experience. I am so appreciative of all the techniques she used and personalized therapy I received!

Kaitlyn Bailey

PT, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy

I'm so glad you're here! It takes courage to seek out care to improve your symptoms and function, especially involving something as personal as pelvic health.

My journey to pelvic floor physical therapy began while experiencing back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction as a competitive gymnast and grew throughout my education in Applied Health Sciences at Bowling Green State University and Doctor of Physical Therapy program at The University of Toledo in Ohio. During my clinical rotations in Sports Medicine and Women’s Health I saw first-hand the significance of the pelvic floor in successful return to high level activities following back and hip injuries/surgeries in female athletes.

Since becoming a physical therapist in 2016, I have gained a wide variety of clinical experience treating people with orthopedic and neurological conditions in outpatient, inpatient, and home settings. The past 5 years have included extensive didactic and hands-on advanced training while working as a pelvic health specialist, staying up to date on current research and techniques in order to optimize care for my patients with pelvic and orthopedic conditions.

I apply a holistic approach to help my patients reach their goals and return to their highest level of function whether they are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, post-operative recovery, acute injuries, or chronic conditions. I am especially passionate about treating individuals with pelvic pain conditions including dyspareunia, vaginismus, pudendal neuralgia, coccydynia, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, PCOS, and related orthopedic conditions including back pain, hip pain, sciatica, jaw pain, and neck pain.

Every person has a pelvic floor — and every person deserves compassionate, expert, evidence-based care to support its optimal function. I work with adult women, men, nonbinary, trans, and intersex individuals at all stages of life. I hope to create a supportive and inclusive space for you to heal and return to whatever brings you joy. For me, this includes staying active outdoors, playing flag football, rock climbing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and snowboarding. â€‹

D.S.

Kaitlyn Bailey is without question the most effective and compassionate physical therapist I have ever had. And I've had a lot of PT. I'm learning how to understand more about my own body and also receiving exceptional treatment.

B.K.

Kaitlyn is the best physical therapist I have ever worked with. She is caring and professional, always asks how she can help and what is bothering the patient so she can tailor her treatment. She has copious knowledge about the whole body and is up on the current research. She has a fabulous "bedside" manner that could and should be emulated by all providers... She is the consummate best of the doctors and physicians I have seen over the years.

K.B.

Kaitlyn is magic! Pelvic floor PT is very personal and Kaitlyn makes me feel so comfortable and at ease. Not only does my body feel better after only a few sessions but she takes the time to explain the muscles impacted and how they connect. It is super helpful to better understand this so I can help myself when she's not around. Highly Recommend!

Whitney Heald

Patient Care Coordinator

Hey there, I can’t wait to meet you! I may not be a physical therapist, but I am here to help you get reconnected with the life you love. I am honored to work with Katherine, Megan, and Kaitlyn and to get the opportunity to observe the care and attention they give to their work. My goal is to answer any questions you may have, to make scheduling your appointments quick and easy, and to make you smile!

I earned my B.A. from Texas State University and worked for many years in various roles within a large multi-specialty clinic group in Austin. Before that I was lucky enough to nanny for all of my nieces and nephews when they were babies! Now they are all teenagers and living their best lives - two in San Diego and two in Bali, Indonesia!

I recently moved to Colorado from Texas and Denver already feels like home. I'm enjoying the weather, the incredible views, the amazing people, and the many things that this great state has to offer. When I’m off the clock you can also find me at a dog park with my dog Hopper. He'll be the big chihuahua mix begging for you to pet him or to let him hop up in your lap! The rest of the time I'm discovering all that Colorado has to offer. I love a good thrift store and I can't say no to browsing a used book store or antique shop. If you've got a favorite spot, I'd love to hear about it!
